Liberty began as a small Bible college in 1971 in Lynchburg, Va., but by the grace of God and the steady hand of its founder, Dr. Jerry Falwell, grew steadily. By 1985 Liberty had developed a distance education program that now offers more than 40 online degrees and 90 specializations to over 50,000 students (over 13,000 that are military). Our Seminary

Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary offers 11 graduate/master’s programs and 28 specializations through LU Online, as well as doctoral programs in ministry and a Ph.D. in Theology and Apologetics. Liberty’s convenient online format allows you to complete your coursework from wherever God may lead you.

All degree programs provide a core foundation of the Bible and Christian history and theology, as well as apologetics, discipleship, evangelism and leadership. Courses are offered in a condensed, 8-week format, allowing you to focus your studies and accelerate your degree.
